Emily’s Bakery Product Shoot

My sister has recently started a small business of selling homemade bread to our neighborhood. She has been pretty successful at connecting with people through Facebook so she was wanting to make a dedicated Facebook page for her business. So in exchange for some yummy bread, I did a product shoot for her. Below is the plan we came up with:

The day of the shoot was pretty overcast and cold, so I was grateful to be inside with bread baking in the oven. I got some wood pallets from my older sister, who is also a photographer. I decided I should really invest in some of those because they are super handy for product/food photography. I set up the pallets next to the big glass sliding door to let in natural light. I chose on of the best looking loafs and grabbed some props. We didn’t get so many shots of the process because I did a little video of that and the lighting was not as great. I did like how the lighting turned out on this bread. Lighting is so important with photography even with simple things like food. I plan to deliver them digitally today as I won’t be back in Utah until next week. I loved how the photos, and the bread, turned out (seriously the bread is amazing!).
