Eric Curry Style Light Painting

Eric Curry Style

I hadn’t heard of Eric Curry until this photo shoot. But when I saw his work I was very impressed and excited to try and imitate it. Eric Curry has a light painting style that is really unique and incredible. He takes dozens of long exposure shots of the same scene, but lighting different parts. He then combines them all in post production to create one fantastic image! If you have not seen his work click here to check it out.

Obviously mine is not nearly as intense or incredibly detailed as Eric Curry’s light paintings, but I still had a blast creating it. For these shots I had 15 second shutter speed and around 200 ISO. We had some great models and lighting people painting the scene. As much fun as shooting was, my favorite part was the post production. I had so much creative freedom and kind of felt like I was painting with all the masking I did. So here are all the thumbnails of the images I masked together to create the final one.
