Macro with Water Drops

Macro photography is a new thing for me. I have never had the equipment or the instruction until we took our trip up to Sky Mountain Lodge. For this shoot I used my Canon 70D with the 18-135 lens with added on Macro Extension Tubes. I used the Fotodiox Pro set that you can get on Amazon for about $50, a great alternative to buying a dedicated Macro lens for hundreds of dollars.

I loved combining water drops and macro. The subject themselves were interesting but when I added water drops it brought so much more to the image. With these photos I zoomed in to 80mm and used manual focus. I also had a lot of different LED lights because with macro you need a ton of light. It was super hard at first to get any sharp images but as I practiced more I got a better feel for when the subject would be in focus.

These first ones I used a spray bottle to get a ton of water drops.

These next couple I used an eyedropper to get exact water drops. In some of them you can see the reflection of the objects in the background.
